Phonograph Lino Prints

This week I have been hard at work on a new project, a linoleum print of a phonograph. I am starting to realize that most of my prints so far have been focused on the pre-modernized era.
Here are some of the prints that I have done over the last couple of days.

I really like how this one turned out. Way better then I anticipated.

Most of the prints from Thursday

More prints from Friday.

Another Drawing Progression

I just finished reading Of Mice and Men for English and had to come up with a project that captured George and Lennie's relationship, so I came up with this:

Etching: Pretty Much Complete

So I'm pretty much done with my etching edition!! I have done seven prints and it took me about 20 25 minutes to do each one, so I will probably only do a few more.
As I said in a previous post, the main concept of this edition is about American Consumerism and how we Americans and society as a whole is addicted to having the latest and greatest of everything. When the next gen comes out, we trade in our still new technology for even newer tech. I find this sickening, even though I do it a lot of the times to. There are starving kids all over the world and families that cant afford the essentials of life and all we are worrying about is having the best of the best. We think, and it does after a while, make up who we are.
It took a couple of prints to get the etching to show up. The First problem was that I didnt etch hard enough into the plate, second I was inking it up all wrong. After a couple of trial and error runs, I started getting better results.

I'll probably do another print that is completely red.

Update on Etching

This wee was not too much of a busy week in printmaking. I enlarged my drawing to fit a larger plate and I started etching on the plate and have gotten a little ways into it. I am going to hopefully have most of the etching done this weekend!
